Future Cities visited the White House Science Fair
Hyde Park Middle School is the only school in Nevada selected to participate in the White House Science Fair, taking place this week at 1600 Pennsvlania Avenue.
On Wednesday, April 13, the White House will provide a hands-on showcase of student innovation, all of which was researched, built and designed by the next generation of America's scientists. The Science Fair will include everything from robots to tools aimed at fighting cancer and climate change.
President Barack Obama welcomed more than 100 top science, technology, engineering and math students from across the country to demonstrate ways of changing the future of America. Among them were Hyde Park Middle School students Sydney Lin, Krishna Patel and Isha Shah, known collectively as "Team Kilau." They designed a sustainable, waste-free, municipal city, winning awards for the Most Sustainable Buildings and City of the Future that Best Incorporates Cultural and Historical Resources.
