This week students will be focusing argumentative writing. Students will be able to

  • pull out strong evidence to support claims
  • develop counterclaims with a rebuttal
  • reply in a substantive manner to peers
  • understand argumentative terms

On Monday January 22, 2017 students self reflect on examples of thorough analysis  and replies to peers on written work. Students then will  edit work to reflect excellent examples. If they did not complete work in class, it is  homework and all examples are due on Tuesday 23, 2018. Final work will count as an assessment.


Students will work on argument paragraph template that is due on Thursday 25, 2018 before class.


There is an assessment on “Parts of an Argument” on Friday.
