 January 8 -12

  • Happy New Year Panthers! We are starting of the New Year with goals on how to be a better version of ourselves. Students wrote down these goals and shared them with the table. It is listed as the first page of their notes. We hope to reach our goals by the end of the school year.

  • This year we will be more organized with our notes!  We will go over the new ways to organize our notes. Notes must be organized using a table of context as a guide.Notes must also be labeled with the correct page number. Students must also follow the rules of using cornell notes when needed. The first page of notes are students’ goals. Students must occasionally refer back to this page to make sure they are reaching these goals.

  • Students will be introduced to argumentative writing with key vocabulary terms that we will have a quiz on next week.

  • Students will collect evidence to back up claims to arguments by annotating  articles and organizing evidence in a “pro and con” sheet.

  • Students  will also learn how to give substantive responses to their peers so that they can give feedback that is meaningful and helpful.
