Summer Fun Ideas

1.  Get a journal to keep a record of your thoughts, your reading, and your learning.
2.   Observe using all of your senses. Include sketches of observations in your journal. 
3.  Make a photo essay (on your phone) with a topic of your choice. Take many photos every day but keep only one, the one that speaks to your topic the loudest. 
4. Develop your curiosity. Watch some TED Talks, Minute Physics, YouTube any academic topic that interests you. 
5.  Make a schedule to get things done. Schedule the things you want to accomplish and stick to that schedule. I recommend exploring the app stores to find one you like. I use Trello with Pomello. 
6. Vacationing over break? Spend 5 minutes every evening reflecting with your family about “What made today special?” Keep an audio recording of that conversation. 
7.  Find time to exercise, and take breaks if you are sitting for long periods of time -like playing video games or reading. 
8.  Get some books you want to read, and be sure to include some non-fiction. 
9.  Think about your workspace at home and see how you can make that a more creative space. 
10.  Get inspired! For 21 days, find a motivational quote that you love and send it to someone you think will love it too. 
11. Up your creativity(and make nicer posters in the process) by practicing hand lettering. Youtube has a lot of beginner and intermediate videos. Practice your newfound skills by sending “snail mail” letters to your friends. 
12. Geometry is art and art is geometric. Start looking at life/art with an eye open to the geometry around you. Keep a list, or better yet - a photo, of what you notice for 21 days.
