(you may only use a calculator to check)

1)  It costs $140 to buy a cord of firewood, delivered to your house, and $80 to buy a 1/2 cord delivered.  Assume that you pay a certain number of dollars per cord for the wood, plus a fixed number of dollars for delivery.  How much would you expect to pay to buy 1.5 cords, delivered?

2)  The Math Club raised money for its summer trip by holding a car wash.  They charged $3 per car and $5 per truck.  The club earned $181 for washing a total of 49 vehicles.  How many of each kind of vehicle did they wash?

3)  At a professional basketball game, the turnstile count showed that 17,406 people paid admission.  The total cash received for tickets was $133,372.  Without actually counting the ticket stubs, find out how many paid for reserved seats ($10 each) and how many paid for general admission seats ($6 each).
