CCSD - MAGNET APPLICATION

Making the decision to apply to and attend a magnet school is an important one.  The Hyde Park Academy experience is a unique educational opportunity but one that is difficult to explain in a few sentences.

The most authentic assessment can be made by attending one of our Parent Information Meetings.  At these meetings, current students will provide you and your child with descriptions of their experiences in the Academy.

You are faced with a variety of options for your child – magnet, zone school, charter, private, online.  Many of the schools will attempt to convince you that their program is the best.

We will not do that because

• our record speaks for itself.
• the program is difficult.
• the academic and behavioral expectations are very high.
• the program is not the right fit for every child.
• families make sacrifices for their child to attend.

You would not purchase a house or car without learning all you could.  It is important that you learn all you can about a school for your child.  Please attend a Parent Information Meeting at every school to which you intend to apply.

For more information about our program, please attend one of our virtual Magnet Fairs that are scheduled on the following dates:

• October 24, 2020, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
• December 4, 2020, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
