Next week 5/22/23

We have one day next week to say goodbye and receive any last-minute handouts. I just wanted to say that it's been a privilege being your Pre-AP World History and Geography teacher. You were a really fun group and I enjoyed teaching you. This was especially important since you are the last students that I'll be teaching at Hyde Park!!

This week 5/15/23 - 5/19/23

This week students will finish presenting their country projects. Students will turn in their notes. Students will make their international recipe books. Students will complete their portfolios, have them graded and take them home.

Last week 5/8/23 - 5/12/23

Last week students continued presenting their country projects. Their classmates were required to take notes. We also had Da Vinci Night on Thursday night from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Students did a fabulous job presenting their historical figures and projects!!

Week 5/1/23 - 5/5/23

Students had their country projects checked. Students began presenting their country presentations. Students completed any last minute tweaks to their country projects. Students received the political maps of Europe.

Week 4/24/23 - 4/28/23

This was a short week because of Staff Development Day on Friday. Students worked on their country projects. Students finished SBAC testing. Students took an assessment on revolutions. 

Week 4/17/23 - 4/21/23

Even period students participated in the revolution debate on Monday. Students received directions for the Country Project. Students finished up the unit on revolutions. Students will take an assessment on revolutions. Students began SBAC testing.

Week 4/11/23 - 4/14/23

Students continued to learn about revolutions. Students finished up the physical map of S. America. Students prepared for the debate on revolutions. Students had their debate arguments checked and met with their side to discuss strategy. Odd period students had their debate on Friday.

Week 4/3/23 - 4/6/23

This was a short week. We continued to learn about revolutions. Students had time to work on their revolution arguments. Students also completed a political and physical map of South America.

Week 3/27/23 - 3/31/23

Students worked on their portfolios. Students discussed current events, and received the directions for the next debate on revolutions. Students began to learn about different revolutions throughout history.

Week 3/20/23 - 3/24/23

Students watched the movie, "Hotel Rwanda." Students were required to answer questions, fill in the blanks, order the sequence of events, and discuss certain topics with a partner.

Week 3/13/23 - 3/17/23

Spring break. I wish everyone a wonderful spring break. Rest up, because we have a lot going on for the last quarter. :-)

Week 3/6/23 - 3/10/23

Students finished up the Genocide presentations. Students then did a self reflection and peer assessment. We continued with current events.

Week 2/21/23 - 2/24/23

This was a short week because of President's Day. Students had time to work on their Genocide Presentations. 

Week 2/13/23 - 2/17/23

Students watched the movie, "The Sound of Music" which depicts Austria right before WWII and the Anschluss (the reunification of Austria to Germany).. Students were required to answer questions while watching the movie.
