The classroom discipline plan follows Hyde Park Panthers’ discipline

Learn to take precedence.
Interfering with anyone’s learning is not appropriate.
Respecting property: Treating others with respect and courtesy is essential.
Behaving safely at all times is necessary.

Discipline

First Violation: Any student who does not follow the rules, expectations, and procedures will receive a warning. After being invited to do so, you are showing disrespect to peers in the class and the teacher. One-on-One Conference: Grade (S) Citizenship
Second Violation: A call home will also follow. * Contact the parent; you may change seating grade (S) citizenship.
Third Violation: The third offense will result in detention. Removed from artwork* A different assignment will be given; see attachment PS: The student changes seating. Not group seat; individual seat; write a letter of pardon. Grade (S) Citizenship –
Fourth Violation: Removal from Artwork; Counselor Referral/Detention; Grade (U) Citizenship: The student gets the fourth point.
Fifth Violation Removal from Artwork—Dean Referral—U Grade in Citizenship

SEVERE DISRUPTIONS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE ART ROOM.

It is your decision on how well you complete your projects, classwork, and homework. Your grades are a reflection of yourself, your attitude, and your willingness to try your best. If you do not complete your work, it will reflect in your grade.

We are all unique individuals with a variety of talents and ideas to contribute. We have a variety of interests, likes, and dislikes. That is what makes the world interesting! Keep a positive attitude, incorporate your interests into your artwork, and you will have a successful time in art class. I appreciate your cooperation and know you will participate to the best of your ability. I look forward to a creative year and fun memories!

Goals

One-point perspective makes your drawing look more realistic.

Once you know the rules, it can be applied to anything you draw.

It touches upon many Elements of Art: Line, Space, Value, Shape, and Form

It offers you an opportunity to challenge yourself by learning a two-point perspective, three-point perspective, or above.

You will use a ruler, with measures and other mathematical concepts like parallel lines, shapes, forms, measuring, and use of tools.

Begin with a one-point perspective.

In order to draw in perspective, you need 1 or 2 things: a vanishing point and a horizon line.

Once you have an understanding of a one-point perspective, then you can expand into more complex concepts.

Step 1

Learning vocabulary

Two new words you learn and meaning:

Vanishing Point: The place where something moves so far away from your view that it just vanishes. If it is a road, with parallel lines, it is finally where they vanish creating the illusion of them intersecting.

Horizon Line: This represents the viewer’s eye level or where the sky meets the water or land. When inside, it could be where the wall meets the floor.

One Point Perspective Designs: The Bird’s Eye Buildings, Landscape, and Room

There are 3 specific designs that I taught in March to my students using a one-point perspective. After they practiced have learned how to make basic sketches of perspective, and choose one of these 3 designs, we looked at examples of how other artists have used these basic concepts and have added their own creativity to the process. Students then create a work of art of their own using one of the designs covered and their art supply or process of choice.
